Objectives of
Village Montessori School:
At Village Montessori School
we are dedicated to the principles and philosophy of Dr. Maria
Montessori, whose in-depth study of children and methods of
education led her to a deep awareness of the dynamic importance
of the first six years of a child's life. These are the
years during which character and intelligence are being formed.
The Montesssori
philosophy is based on love for the child and respect for his
dignity and worth as a person with the objective of helping each
to develop to his fullest potential.
Characteristics we
encourage are: a sense of order, freedom of choice within
limits, increased curiosity, independence, persistence, ability
to concentrate and self-confidence.

Administration and Faculty:
We are a
family business begun 24 years ago by Patricia Aubin, a dedicated Montessorian who feels the
greatest gifts we as educators can give to young children are a
respect for and a belief in themselves, a deep knowledge of the
satisfaction of work well done and especially, a lifetime love
of learning.
Laura Kerwin,
the Administrative Director, has seen the benefits of a
Montessori education in her own children and believes in the
value of the full cycle of learning for the first six years of a
child's life
Our teaching staff
excel both in educational qualifications and years of
experience. Many have been with us for over 15 years.
They are known for the warm personal approach they bring to the
classroom. All are college graduates and have degrees in
Montessori education.
Every teacher also
has an assistant who has been carefully selected on the basis of
her awareness of the child and dedication to the principles of
child development.
